General Information
regarding the website & locations photographed
Many of the locations shown require access fees to be paid, often to The National Trust For Scotland (NTS) or
Historic Environment Scotland (Historic Scotland). Memberships reduce costs as do family tickets and most sites offer
concessions. Some sites are totally free to access and private sites have their own arrangements. Please check before
visiting to ensure any access information given is accurate.
References are often given to disabled access. There are so many variations of disability that it's impossible give anything
other than a vague interpretation. The photos might give you a clue regarding hills, steps, paths etc. Again, please check before
visiting to ensure suitable access.
Distances and measurements are given in Imperial measures; miles, yards, feet etc. That's an old school choice as most of the
older generations (over 30s?) are still not up to speed in metric units. Luckily the younger people understand miles etc
as well so no-one misses out.
All of the aerial photographs (with one exception) were taken from drones, properly licensed and insured and with a qualified pilot. There
are different rules and laws for different drone sizes and locations and these are always carefully adhered to.
Where necessary faces have been blurred to conceal identities and often people have been edited out entirely just to be on the safe
side. Occasionally photos have been edited to remove distractions or intrusions such as scaffolding and road works. In one case an
entire building has been hidden to improve the view.
Many of the photos have been edited to remove litter, debris and in same cases used nappies. Please try to be a caring visitor.
Thanks.
