It is a simple matter to obtain a licence to use any image from this website for your own non-commercial purposes at no charge provided you ask for and are granted a licence in advance.

Simply send an email using this link:

and detail which image you want to use and your intended purpose(s).

You'll then receive an email reply with the full details and terms for free use.

Any image you are licensed to use must be identified as © 400photos.uk ideally by adding a note on the page indicating the source of the image. If you prefer, a copy can by supplied at each size needed with a text overlay stating copyright ownership.

Please be aware that images will NOT be made available for any commercial purpose, social media or business promotion and advertising sites.

Using images from this or anny other website without obtaining a licence is likely to be a breach of UK and international copyright law.

Many of the images on this website can be licensed at no charge for non-commercial use provided permission (a licence) is sought and obtained beforehand. This site is not engaged in the commercial sale or licensing of images.

It's a lot easier and a great deal less stressful to ask for and obtain a licence to use an image rather than take a risk and infringe copyright. Send an email and ask - it's quick, easy and generally free for non-commercial uses - commercial uses will not be licensed.

There are also many other aerial and ground-based images available which are not shown on this website. Please ask if you are looking for any alternative images or for images of other subjects.

While those licensing for website use generally require smaller images most are available up to original sizes of 5,000 pixels width (up to 20,000 for panoramas) and usually very much larger.
