Burns' Cottage
Alloway, Ayrshire
The birthplace of Robert Burns in Alloway, just south of Ayr.
The cottage was built by Robert Burns' father and was attached to his market garden, seen behind the cottage.

the top tourist attractions in Scotland.

As you can see in this view (the cottage is right at the bottom) it's only a short distance from the sea.
On the left (south) are the Heads of Ayr with Greenan Castle nearby. It's an odd thing that Burns rarely mentioned the sea in any of his poems.
