The cottage was built by Robert Burns' father and was attached to his market garden, seen
behind the cottage.
Burns Cottage is run by the National Trust for Scotland and the cottage is one of the top tourist attractions in Scotland.
There are some interesting sculptures connected to Burns' poetry, in particular the one to the left among the trees of Tam O'Shanter fleeing the witches at Alloway Kirk (last photo).
The red-roofed building to the right of the cottage is the Education Pavilion.
