The central arch (over the River Ayr) had at that time the tallest masonry arch in the world.

The River Ayr Way long distance path passes under the viaduct on the north side (the left bank in these photos).

The viaduct was strengthened in the 2010s and it has been a category A listed structure since 1971.

In case you're wondering, these are two different photos as can be seen by the different traffic on the A76 in the middle distance.
