The Burns Centre

Burns Centre, Dumfries, aerial photograph
On the banks of the River Nith in Dumfries, across the river from Whitesands and the town centre.

As the name suggests this is a museum dedicated to the life and work of Robert Burns who lived nearby in Dumfries at the time of his death.

Looking downstream with the Solway Firth (and England) just showing near the horizon.

That's the Dumfries camera obscura in the right middle distance.

The main entrance is to the left with the café entrance at the right.

The car park is on the left.

Looking downstream from over Devorgilla Bridge.

From here the Burns Centre is on the right bank and in the top left is the white dome of his mausoleum to the left of the church spire. It's a ten minute walk from the museum.
