Palace of Art, Glasgow, aerial photograph
The Glasgow Palace of Art in Paisley Road West.

Ibrox in the background, Govan police station across the road, in view within walking distance is the House for an Art Lover near the ski slopes and not far away is the Burrell Collection in Pollok Park.

Planned and built to be an art centre this is now part of the Glasgow Life project and is designated the Glasgow Club Palace of Art.

It's a fitness centre and gym. A really tasteful place to work out.

Originally built in 1938 as the only permanent part of the Empire Exhibition this was designed to host Glasgow's art collection but later became first a community centre (1951) and then a sports hall (1968) before re-emerging for its current use.
