An empty field, you ask?

This is planned to be the site of a spectacular sculpture to be called “The Star of Caledonia” on a mound right by the A74(M), the main motorway into Scotland.

The “Star of Caledonia” will be seen by everyone entering or leaving Scotland - tens of thousands each day at busy times. It will be illuminated at night making people's journeys even more memorable.

As well as the Star there will be parkland, gardens, water features, picnic and play areas and a meeting hub as well as plenty of parking. The general site of the mound to be constructed to hold the sculpture is marked.in one of the photos

You can see how close it is to the Gretna Green centre making it an ideal extra tourist attraction and place to visit and will generally boost tourism and employment in the whole area.

More photos to come as work progresses.
