Hampden Park was originally opened in 1903 and was redeveloped into its present form in
the late 1990s.
As well as football it houses the Scottish Football Museum which as well as telling the story of Scottish football hosts tours of the stadium which is also used for major concerts.
The plan is to photograph the stadium when it's set up for a rock concert. Watch this space.
This is the third incarnation of the name Hampden Park. The first two versions are a short distance to the north on both sides of Cathcart Road. Links to photos of those grounds are below.
The ground on the left (last photo) is The City Stadium (Lesser Hampden) where Queen's Park F.C. play their home games (they used the main stadium for many years). Queen's Park are the oldest association football club in Scotland, the tenth oldest on the planet, having been founded in 1867 and they currently play in the Scottish Championship.
