The entrance door is on the eastern face of this octagonal building just to the west of Howwood and the A737, north of Castle Semple Loch.

The temple was built around 1760 and was probably connected to the hunting of deer in the vast Semple estates. Or not; no-one seems to be sure.

These photos have been cleaned up to erase the usual litter and plastic waste left behind by ignorant visitors.

The building presumably once had a roof and possibly even internal floors, going by the shape and height of the windows.

Tricky to a access requiring a climbing walk across rough ground. No paths.
