The Shipbuilders of Port Glasgow, also known as The Skelpies, are 35 feet high tall stainless steel sculptures in Coronation Park, Port Glasgow, right by the river.

The Skelpies? It's a pun on the Kelpies, a couple of steel horses up by the M9 in Grangemouth. Not the easiest subjects to render with a digital camera. The artist was John McKenna.

As you can see Port Glasgow was celebrating an anniversary in 2025 when these photos were taken.

Recently Port Glasgow won a 'prize' as the most dismal town in Scotland but that was rescinded after many complaints from unhappy locals.
