There's parking for over thirty tourist coaches as this is a very popular spot for touring holidays right by the main road into Scotland. There are all the usual tourist attractions, cafés, gift shops, marriage guidance...

The core of Gretna Green is the Blacksmith's Forge where runaway couples were married in times past. Scots law allowed marriage at a younger age than in England without parents' consent. Romantic, foolish and very popular.

The English border is about 800 yards from here and that's the A74(M) running past the gate.
