The harbour area of the old fishing village of Maidens just a mile or two north of Turnberry.

In two of the photos, looking south, you can see Turnberry Lighthouse, the island of Ailsa Craig and the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland.

The Saltire (Scottish flag) near the lighthouse is probably to remind passers-by on ships that they're in Scotland, just in case they aren't sure. It was put there by the golf course owner so that perhaps explains the need. He seems quite fond of flags.

The harbour is being developed as a marina, as you can see, but development seems to have stalled over the last year or so, as has so much progress that's been held up by Covid and its aftermath.

Just a mile or so to the north is Culzean Castle, linked to here.
