The museum dedicated to the life of Robert Burns, Scotland's national bard.
Situated within an easy stroll of Burns Cottage, Brig o'Doon and the Burns Memorial Gardens (links below).
As it's built facing north the light on the entrance is a little limited and the overhang doesn't help.
Alloway Old Kirk is just across the road and the safe, sheltered path between the cottage and the museum has many sculptures and points of interest.
A few yards away is the Alloway Railway Tunnel (link below), an art project with many illustrations of Burns' poems and Scottish life.
There's plenty of free parking, easy disabled access and a café with outdoor tables. The museum is run by the National Trust for Scotland and the usual access rates and exclusions apply.
